Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery
Health is a fundamental human right . ANM / FHW plays a vital role in the rural healthcare delivery system. She should be sensitive and accountable . Should be able to provide accessible, equitable ,affordable quality healthcare.
ANM program intends to prepare skilled and effective female health workers to achieve the goals of National Rural Health Mission . ANM would be trained in community health skills to practice basic health care.
ANM functions at the community level and works as an active link between the community and healthcare system.
Objectives -
- ANM - 12th Pass with Any Stream
- - Understand the concept of holistic health and socio-economic and environmental factors in community health.
- - Identify health problems and mobilise social support.
- - Provide preventive ,promotive , restorative and emergency healthcare to individuals and community
- - Provide treatment of minor ailments
- - Skilled midwifery services and refer mother's to next level of healthcare.
- - Skilled care to neonates and refer to appropriate levels
- - Train birth attendants , anganwadi workers
- - Counselling related to health if individuals and family.
- - Involved in healthcare delivery system
- - Manage health center
- Duration:- 2 years
- Age limit:- minimum age is 17 years before 31st December of the year .For anganwadi worker / trained dais / MPHW 35-42 years.
- Educational Qualification:- 10+2 from CBSE/ ICSE/ SSSCE/HSCE
