Bvoc in Operation Theatre course prepares a student to work inside an operation theatre. Their main task is to assist the anaesthesiologist and the surgeon, transport patients to and from the theatre and ward, arrange instruments and restock the operating room. The course makes students aware of various aspects of managing patients and also the elaborate details of an operation theatre. As a part of the curriculum, the students are in charge of taking care of patients as well as the surgical instruments along with disinfection and sterilization. The role of an operation theatre technician is to assist the surgeon or anaesthetist during the operation procedure and take care of the medications, anaesthetic gases, curtains, and sterilisation requirements during surgery. He/she is also responsible for the smooth working of ICUs, CCUs and Operation theatres.
